come and sit
beneath my blanket
as you did when
we shared space

shoulder brushing
shoulder, huddled
in a sweeter
time and place

find a path
into my presence
touch me in some
other way

let me feel your
spirit near me
make of this a
brighter day

If this poem resonated with you, Homecomings and Goings might also speak to your heart, along with Presence Not Absence and Hope Takes Wing. I sincerely believe that our children are never lost to us, and all of these poems express that sentiment in one way or another. Find more poetry about grieving and loss here.

Wishing you peace and healing in this lifelong journey.
