From break of dawn till setting sun,
he worked until the work was done.
No perks, no flex-time, no review–
just midday sun and morning dew.
I am delighted to make these holiday poems available to you. They are gifts from my heart to anyone willing to accept them. My hope is that each holiday poem brings added meaning to someone’s Christmas or Easter, Valentine’s Day or Independence Day. Writing them has already brought added meaning to mine. (Poems for nearly every holiday are listed here. You may click specifically on Christmas Poems, Easter Poems, Patriotic Poems, and Thanksgiving Poems. From break of dawn till setting sun,
he worked until the work was done.
No perks, no flex-time, no review–
just midday sun and morning dew.
Humble yourself as a little child
and crawl into the nest.
With barren head and unshod feet
draw peace into your breast.
Autumn is a feeling,
and it takes you for a ride.
You’ll always be the one for me;
we’re two peas in a pod.
So plump, so round…You’re all I see.
My soft, green heart is awed.
Not only do you rock, you are one––
That’s the honest truth.
I oughta know; you’ve had my back
since we were in our youth.
Resolution! Schmezolution!
This year, I’m resolved
to make no resolutions
because failure is involved.

One melancholy sight to see:
a brittle, barren Christmas tree.
The lights that twinkled are no more,
pine needles lie upon the floor,
