heart of the matter

all lives matter
black lives matter
his life matters
mine
bridges ladders
world in tatters
window shatters
why
if we name it
can we claim it
will we turn the
tide
our stops and starts
are from the heart
love is hard to
hide
and in the end
it all depends
on who we are
inside

It is my fervent prayer that we all find a meaningful way through this particular struggle, coming to a resolution based in love, tolerance, and justice for every citizen of this great country. Americans are blessed with a foundation worth building upon, but success demands a team effort. That means everyone must be welcome at the table and willing to come to the table, with no one being left to sit on the wobbly (or even broken) chair. Together, we can fix what is broken, but only if we open our eyes and hearts to see it, even when it doesn’t impact us directly. Just my thoughts today.
