We all have felt within us
the warmth a mother brings.
You’ve listened with such insight to
our secret thoughts and dreams.

And Christmastime is one time when
you’re really at your best.
Through your eyes, we begin to see
how richly we’ve been blessed.

We’ve watched you making ornaments
to decorate our tree,
and Grandma’s hand-knit stockings
speak of love and history.

We’ve heard you tell us of Christ’s birth
(we know you love that story)
and shining in your eyes we’ve seen
a measure of His glory.

We thank our Heavenly Father
on this day and all year through
for gifts of love our hearts have known
because our mom is you.
