Personal Harvest

We have feasted on the bounty
of young women here tonight,
who have shared with us a harvest
that was sown in faith and light.
Seeds planted in the sun of each
young woman’s love for truth
were nurtured by the hope and dreams
and purity of youth.
New life took root and seedlings grew
under the tender care
of these young women, daughters whose
divinity we share.
They bless us, standing straight and tall
and golden as new wheat,
and we are filled. The fruit of all
their labors has been sweet.
How many hungry souls will taste
this fruit throughout the years?
How many will be fed? … Will thirst
no more? … Will dry their tears?
The work that these young women do
will soothe the troubled heart,
and Zion will not falter
though this world be torn apart.
We gather here together, and
we celebrate the worth
of beautiful young women,
who chose to come to earth
to bless the land and till the soil
and labor in the field,
to reap the glorious harvest that
eternal life will yield.
