Trippin’

Let’s take a trip! Sounds cool. Hurray!!
I really need some time away,
some time away from cares of home
to be me – free – and on the roam.
Can’t wait to gather up my stuff
and split. I’ll just include enough
of what it takes to have some fun.
It won’t take long; I’ll soon be done.
So here’s a quick list of the things
that every seasoned traveler brings:
Clothes and shoes and toiletries,
meds (I take 13 of these),
wipes and needles, sun hat, CPAP,
hot pack, cold pack, all the tech crap –
chargers, cords, and BP cuff,
electric eye warmer (?) Enough!
But not enough. There’s so much more:
a bed wedge and four pillows…four!
Specialized food for diet needs…
eye drops, glasses, masks (oh, geez),
blood sugar monitors and reader,
oxygen saturation meter,
finger sticks and finger cots,
glucose tabs and neti pots.
Journal (to ease rising tensions),
nebulizer and suspensions,
extra insulin and sensors,
sterilizing bowls and cleansers,
special pads for special places,
special creams for dried-up faces,
lozenges and extra tissues…
Man, I’m trippin’! (travel issues)
