I am not comfortable with war
and yet, through history,
the proof that battles must be fought
is starkly clear to me.

The primal conflict at the core
of skirmishes on earth
has origins in that rebellion
waged before our birth:

The battle of all battles
for the soul of every man,
the power of God against the lure
of Satan’s evil plan.

The Power of God, the only force
sufficient to prevail
against the great destroyer’s lust
to make God’s children fail.

The priesthood is God’s power on earth,
a sword and shield for men…
confounding foes, redressing woes…
leading us home again.
