Okay, I kinda like you, but
it’s really no big deal.
Don’t think I’m feeling all that stuff
those crazy poets feel.

I sleep just fine at night; my feet
are firmly on the ground.
My appetite is great; I haven’t
gained or lost a pound.

I’m proud to say my steady heart
has never skipped a beat;
I’m too based in reality
to be swept off my feet.

My world is just the same; there’s
nothing magical about you.
(Unless, of course, you count the fact
that I can’t live without you!)
