It’s harder now to tell where your part ends.
Or where my part begins, as time goes on.
I only know that when I speak of friends,
I always name you first. You are lifelong.

You are sunshine in the morning
and the northern star at night…
the clouds that give me warning
when the storm is out of sight.
Man and woman.
Heaven’s grace
reaching, touching
altar’s lace.
Within the stone-cold reaches of his heart,
a red-hot revolution had begun.
The feeblest of stirrings was its start,
mere embers, kindled by another’s sun.
She tasted sweet as honey, deftly spun
his head around; oh yes, this was her art.
April showers bring May flowers
(nature goes to work)
May blooms bring June prom-night rooms
(parents go berserk)
If all your world is painted blue,
Then no one else can change your view.
No pretty words or handsome face
Will make your world a brighter place.
our roots run
together
trunk to trunk
we rise up
bark on bark
we grow
When we were young, you made me blush,
go hot and cold and turn to mush.
I still feel all these things, it’s true…
but is it menopause, or you?
