Dieter’s Lament
©1992, by Susan Noyes Anderson, Infinity Limited
They tell me
that I’m getting
thinner.
“Dwindling away to
nothing”
was the phrase.
Naturally, I love it
and it’s going
to my head.
I get off on all the
second looks and
praise.
There’s just
one
little
stone
that mars my course.
I’m so
hungry
I could easily eat
a horse.

We’ve all been there, right? Okay—maybe not all—but most of us. Getting ourselves down to fighting weight is lots of fun, and so are the compliments that accompany such a feat. But going to bed and waking up hungry? Not so much!
I know, I know. It’s supposed to be a “live it,” not a “diet.”
blah blah blah…yada yada yada…
And what’s that other saying?
Oh, yeah. Pass me the donut holes.
