mother love

My lovely mom with me and my sister

My mother’s love is mine to keep.
It cannot die – nor does it sleep,
but warms me like the golden sun
with rays too strong to be undone.
Each memory its own comfort gives,
a sweet reminder that she lives
and loves and watches from afar,
as bright and constant as a star.

A gift of peace in dark of night,
my mother’s love will be the light
that shines for me until the day
when earthly sorrows fade away.
In that sweet dawn, we’ll meet again,
but I will hold her close till then.
Within my heart, her love lives on –
a joyful, lifting, lingering song.
