woke up this morning
clothed in gray
world dressed down
to shade my way

undercover sun
in sympathy
nimbus clouds
(a nod to me)

water from a cold sky
grounding fast
searching for an exit
back into the past

found a muddy path
overgrown trail
bare legs, cold feet
such an epic fail

heart fell, head fell
landed on my toes
eyes beheld the rainbow
earth still knows

sparkle in the ether
magic underground
stored inside forever
memories, love-bound

sacred soul-strings, found
