My mother’s love, rooted in me,
is sturdy oak and sheltering tree.
Beneath her branches, I have grown
secure enough to stand alone
and yet be nurtured by her care,
supported by her presence there.

I am her seedling, tended well,
fed by the sun and rains that fell
and yet supported through each storm
by her provision, safe and warm.
To be her own has blessed my days
and blesses every child I raise.

Her progeny all sing her praise.

Mothers can be such a powerful force for good in the world, and I just wanted to let mine know how very much she is loved and appreciated, not just by me, but by all my siblings.
