Now I Am Grown

When I was a child, I spake as a child;
I saw as a child would see.
When I was a child, I conquered the world,
secure on my father’s knee.
When I was a child, my mom’s gentle eyes
held all of the answers true,
but now I am grown – I stand on my own,
doing what Jesus would do.
I know of His love, to be gathered and shared,
comforting all through the night.
I know how He lived – how He died, saving me –
the Way and the Truth and the Light.
I know that I have a mission on earth
and permission to humbly pray.
As His child, small or grown, I am never alone.
He walks by my side every day.
