A Lent Well Spent

ignoring Lent
was never meant
the message simply wasn’t sent
but sacrifice
is good advice
a worthy goal at any price
each offering
must always bring
a reason for the heart to sing
and thus, knee bent,
i am content
to offer up this sacrament
