Time Stops for No One

time stops for no one
but if i
sit down and freeze
blink neither eye
lock up my hands
and curl my toes
into the ground
who really knows
perhaps the rush
of time will end
till i can catch
my second wind
or do i merely
clutch at straws
full knowing time
has teeth and claws
the daisies are
no safety clause
