I.

Christ, our glorious Elder Brother
Noble, perfect, free from sin
Firstborn Son of Heavenly Father
In all things like unto Him

Father’s plan He took upon HIm
Gladly, with a love so great
That He chose to come to earth
To bleed and suffer for our sake

Though He knew this sacrifice
Would bring Him pain and misery
Selflessly He paid the price
With infinite love our souls to free

No mere mortal, in His Being
Shone heavenly light through earthly form
He who could have stilled the tempest
Willingly endured the storm

Rejected by the very souls
He agonized to save
He turned His cheek and bore their scorn
And His forgiveness gave

He spent His own innocent blood
To keep them from the grave

II.

I feel such pain when I reflect
Upon His agony
But oh, what healing warmth to know
He did it all for me.

For me, for you, for all of us
He made His sacrifice
For we, like sheep, had gone astray
And so our Shepherd paid the price.

He died, He died that we might live
No greater gift was ever given
No greater promise made than when
Our Lord ascended unto heaven.

III.

King of Glory, Lord of Hosts
Embodiment of divine favor
What a sacred privilege
To know and love Him as my Savior.
